Some Places Stay in Your Heart Long Before They Become Home

A love affair with Gotland

Gotland has held a special place in my heart for more than twenty years. I first came to the island in 2005, drawn here by horses, farm life and a feeling I could not quite explain. What began as a chapter in my life became something much deeper. Gotland became a place where I felt at home, where I grew into myself, and where I have returned time and again.

Over the years, this connection has become part of our family story. We have shared the island with our children, discovered its quiet beauty and found something increasingly rare in everyday life: space, freedom and a sense of belonging.

When Ängsro came into our lives, it felt like a natural continuation of that story.

With its long history as a grand country estate, its generous rooms and its beautiful garden filled with mature trees and apple trees, Ängsro has a character all of its own. It carries a sense of history and permanence, while offering space for new memories to be made.

We wanted a place where our family could gather, where our children could feel at home, and where friends could come together. But we also wanted to share this special place with others.

Our hope is that those who stay at Ängsro will experience something of what Gotland has given us: a sense of calm, a connection to nature, room to breathe and the feeling of being somewhere truly special.

Ängsro is our home away from home. We are happy to share it with you.
